Mission Statement
The interscholastic/intramural sports program at Winslow Middle School are about promoting school spirit through competition and play. Each element offered will focus on our theme of EAGLES – encourage sportsmanship, athletics, games, laughter, enthusiasm and skills for life. The goal of our athletic program is to provide a safe environment for students to participate in sport competitions. Inspiring laughter and play, students will be excited to develop both athletic talents and skills for life through sports and recreational activities.

Goals for Athletics
  • Prepare students for high school athletics.
  • Promote lifelong fitness activities.
  • Encourage proper sportsmanship behavior, teamwork, positive attitude and fair play.
  • Foster recreational responsibilities and team commitments.
  • Create a fun environment that can harvest laughter and play.
  • Schedule of Activities
In order for a student athlete to participate in a sport, the following forms must be completed and signed by a parent/guardian. They must be submitted to the Nurse’s office or Chad Scott, Certified Athletic Trainer, or they will NOT be able to participate.

The forms are available in the Nurse’s office and Chad Scott’s office, located in the gymnasium. All forms must be reviewed and completed by a parent/guardian except the Athletic Physical Forms. Those forms can only be completed and signed by a Physician, Advanced Practice Nurse (APN), or a Physician’s Assistant (PA) that has completed the Cardiac Assessment Professional Development Module.

Athletes must bring a change of clothes and proper shoes for tryouts.

Late buses are provided only for practice days and they leave the school at 4:15. If you are picking up your child, you must arrive by 4:05 in the Middle School back parking lot, closest to the cafeteria.

There are no buses provided for game days, so all athletes must be promptly picked after all home and away games.
