National Junior Honor Society
The National Junior Honor Society is the leader among organizations and societies that promote appropriate for students who reflect outstanding accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, character, leadership and service.
The purpose of the Winslow Township Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate the desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and citizenship, and to encourage the development of character in students of Winslow Township Middle School.
Candidates eligible for selection to this chapter must be in the second semester of seventh or eight grade. Candidates shall have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0, and a clean discipline record. Applications, to eligible candidates, will be distributed after the second marking period. A faculty council will evaluate the candidates on the basis of character, leadership, service, and citizenship. For further information, please refer to page 19 of the WTMS student handbook.
Criteria for Membership:
- GPA-3.5 or higher (87.5)
- 7th & 8th Grade students are eligible
- School Involvement
- Community Service Involvement
- Positive discipline record
- NJHS Members meet twice a month to complete school and community projects.
